Working with an architect or a builder?

We supply and install within their project. Bring us the drawings and the schedule; we bring samples, options and the materials. Whatever needs structural work or a licensed professional, we handle with our vetted, licensed partners.

How installation works

Planning a commercial project

What should you think about in a commercial space?

  • Slip resistance: Entries, kitchens and anywhere that gets wet need a floor made to grip. Each maker says where its tile can go, and we help you pick from the ones meant for that spot.
  • Traffic and wear: A busy dining room takes a beating every day, so the surface and finish have to be made for commercial traffic, not just chosen for the look.
  • Cleaning: Someone cleans that floor every night. Tile size, grout and finish all change how long that takes.
  • Opening hours: Closing costs money. Tell us your hours early, and we'll plan the dates with you, area by area if that keeps you open.
  • Spares: Order the whole floor from one production lot and keep a box or two back, labeled, so a tile broken years later can be replaced with one that matches.

Questions we hear

What grout works in a restaurant kitchen?

An epoxy grout. Grout makers make it for commercial kitchens: stains, strong cleaners and heat don't get into it, and it can take a steam clean. We'll go through the right one for your tile.

Is luxury vinyl tough enough for a store or an office?

Yes, when it's made for commercial floors. The clear wear layer on top takes the traffic: makers rate a thicker one for stores, offices, restaurants and hotels, and the thickest where carts and heavy equipment roll.

What keeps a busy entrance looking good?

Mats, more than anything. Most of the dirt on a floor comes in on shoes, and a long run of matting inside the door catches most of it, and the water off wet shoes with it. Choose vinyl-backed mats: rubber and latex backs can stain the floor.
